y gas liked me and stayed with for 5 days.....then I understood the word RELIEF. I was told the left side pain is so normal as thats where the biggest of the tools were inserted and most work done. Although I did not experience this, or that I could notice, I do know it is common and discussed here often.

One thing I did that really helped me was to go read the months group ahead of mine. So I was an October 2009, so I read July, Aug and Sept threads. It really helped me to read the journeys of those that went ahead and experienced what I would be experiencing soon.

I hope you feel better soon.

Ellie

the gas pain is very normal and the best cure to make it go away is movement, the quicker we move and become more active the quicker you will feel better i experienced this after both my band ops and moving is the best remidy for this pain.

good luck !

the pain in the belly button may be gas but it also maybe where the port has been located, do you know where the port has been placed ? as it could be the port settling down as that takes the longest to settle x

I only got home from hospital yesterday afternoon after having my bypass on the 1st. I HAVE THE SAME THING... the gas pain is only on my left side and seems to come right up to my shoulder even, I didn't know that was possible. I am passing wind but still no bowel movement.. As long as we remain active I guess we will get relieve.

Good Luck with it all!!
