Question Okay, wait a minute, what's that and what about this...?

Let me first say that I just posted this thread and it disappeared when I had to log back in! AArrgghhh! Okay....I will make it shorter this time-I have all kinds of things to say but I will spare you! hehehe

LIQUID DIET-
Am I "eating" enough of these liquids? I am hungry- no not mentally - I am physically hungry! My band does not have a fill yet I know but then that makes sense why I am so dang hungry right? And, by the way is this what you call hell week? Or is that yet to come?

SWELLING-
Where? I really can't tell if I am swelling. I always look swollen for goodness sakes!! LOL!

BREATHING-
In recovery I kept forgetting to breathe apparantly- they eventually put the oxygen plugs in my nose for a while. I have alot more pain in my abdomen than normal and my doc said its because he had to move things around alot more with me. So, it hurts to take deep breaths and I think I am subconsciously forgetting to breathe well and I will catch myself and then take a deep breathe. Scary! Common??

HEADACHE!!!!!-
Why? When will it go away? I stopped taking my liquid pain meds and now I am just taking tylenol and that helped with the headache atleast but now it wore off and the headache is back and just as bad! What is it from?

BENDING-
OWE! As the pain gets better day by day it starts to isolate to the most painful spots like the port site and my liver-which is what my doc said he had to move around alot more than normal. Did anyone else have that issue and if so how long until this subsides?

I appreciate any feedback anyone has to offer. And sorry for the long post. Thanks

Hi there,

I am not a bander but, wanted to say hello. I notice your in San Clemente. I miss that place. We used to live on the San Clemente side of Pendleton and I loved it.

I'm not sure if your procedure was like mine or not but, I found that a heating pad did wonders on my tummy area. The headache I chalked up to "withdrawl" of all the nasty stuff and it did go away. I was told I could have as much broth and jello as I could handle. If you are really worried give your doc a call.

Good luck

Thanks Shetaz! I was hoping someone would respond! I will try the heating pad and my headache went away!!! I think its cuz I usually sleep on my side and up until last night I could'nt but I found a comfortable way to sleep on my side last night and my headache is gone! Thank goodness! I am gonna start a protein drink today. Thanks again! p.s. yeah San Clemente is awesome! Too bad I can't afford to buy a house here! Gonna have to move and go back to reality at some point-lol!

My pleasure.

I'm a side sleeper too and have mastered the art of placing 4 pillows to sleep. Well, I was a master at it before surgery but now.....have to learn all over again.

My computer sucks- after you told me that you lived in San Clemente before I got curious and then I found your story- I was writing a reply and my computer took a dump I think-then i couldnt find it again- anyway- wow-that sounded like a roller coaster what you have gone through- strong women rock! I'm glad you got your surgery date after all!

You're in Bandster Hell. Almost everyone goes through it. You're banded, but you don't have much restriction. The swelling is inside and you probably can't feel all of it. But, I assure you, it gets better. Be sure to follow your surgeon's instructions and things will be fine.

Good luck to you!

Preop diet started 9/29/08; lost 44.9 pounds. Banded 7/31/09. Surgery went peachy ... mmm, peaches.

Thanks so much because that makes total sense...banded but don't have much restriction-exactly- sometimes in my mind im like-the doc forgot to put my band in!!
But then I will eat something and test myself and eat it like im not banded and then I feel that pressure for a few minutes-not very long though-so I have to mentally tell myself i'm full so I dont just keep eating. It makes me so anxious to get the fill!
