Sue, congratulations! I guess I haven't dug around in here enough to realize that lapband is frowned upon.

For me it was the only choice therefore I have to make it work for me. My sister was just as successful as you are and I do know some people who weren't. But all I know of their experiences is that they kind of didn't use the tool the way they could have. From what I understand you have to work a bit harder with the lapband in order for it to work. For example, one lady I know would purposefully eat to the point of pain and nausea and she would go throwup and come back and finish her meal. She would do this so frequently throughout each day that she only lost a minimal amount of weight because she was still taking in so many calories each day. So far only three days in without even a fill in my band and when I drink too much water or eat too much jello etc. I can tell from the pressure and it hurts enough to make me stop. So, if you keep going to the point of needing to throwup you must be in pain the whole time? Right? Maybe i'm a whimp, but no thank you, the pain is bad enough, I for sure would not want to be sick to my stomach on top of that! I will know better later on I suppose. But thats just my take on things at this point. Anyway, you rock with your success and I am glad to know you are here so I know who to talk with about my specific lapband questions. You are an inspiration to me-thanks!
