Default 7 days postop

Hello.
7 days postop and I can drink 16-26 oz of fluids.
Is this normal, seems like alot to me.
I also crave food like oh yeah give me some good mexican food.
Am I in a boat by myself about how I feel?

I'm 10 days out. I notice that I am drinking quite a bit but not craving in the matter you are. I have added egg drop soup and variations of such to my diet.

I had major "head hunger" for 2-3 weeks after surgery, I cried a lot. It is much easier now and I am feeling much better. Don't worry it will get better and you are not alone!!!

OK so has anyone else done this??? Go to the fridge and just stare at the food and say to yourself you want to take a small bite of everything that looks yummy???
Well I have and of course just said it and didn't do it because I am not in the mood to puke or injure myself. Not to mention I am not really hungry ( it's the head hunger ) But I did look I admit it...lol

What you guys are going through is TOTALLY NORMAL!

First few weeks post op I wanted to eat everything (head hunger) and wanted spicy food (not normal for me either) This too shall pass.

As far as how much you can drink? Is this in 1 sitting or through out the day? Are you gulping or just sipping? The ideal is to get in as much fluid as you can. Protein will do your body good right about now.

How I got through the first few weeks was I would make soup for the hubby and I would strain the broth and just eat/drink that. I was able to make some with some spice in it (not too spicy remember your pouches are just babies) but enough to help that thirst.

Good luck all, and welcome to the loosers bench!

OMG the commercials are driving me crazy. Do you have any idea how many food commercials are shown throughout the day? TONS! I do stare into the pantry and want to eat anything, everything. I am 5 days post op. Went to the grocery store today to try to find variety. I just had unsweetened jello. It was pretty good. I am worried, I have alot more days ahead of me before I can eat 'normal' food. Thanks to this forum I know I am not alone.

No, you are not! I broke down and actually licked one of my husband's salt and vinegar chips the other day. Just because I haven't had anything with much flavor and wanted to shock my senses. It worked! OUUUU, was that thing sour, but good. And it satisfied a craving, so I don't feel bad. I think being so early out, it is still very hard to resist those foods. Obviously we have to, or we'd be sick beyond imagination!
