Unhappy Too many questions for one post!!

Can someone please help me. I had my lap-band put in 6 weeks ago and I have just had my first fill this evening.

What I would like to know is (if anyone would be nice enough to tell me)..

How much protien do I need to have everyday? (not been told to have any)

When can I start to exercise to start putting muscle mass on (plus what exercises do I need to put on muscle mass?)

Thanks for the help!!!

Guys are supposed to have b/w 50-60 grams of protein a day.

Eat protein first, veggies, fruit, carbs.

I have exercise consults every 6 weeks to change my exercise routine. I know for the first 6 weeks, they only want you to do walking...Then you can incorporate weights and strength training.

I'm surprised they didn't give you info when you had your surgery. My doctor gave us all sorts of handouts and guidelines to follow. I didn't have lapband, so I'm sure you have different guidelines to follow. I am not sure about the protein, but John is the expert on protein/muscle mass, etc. John had RNY also, not the lapband, but I'm sure he'd be happy to help you. You might want to sent him a private message, or a post to his attention.
Have a good day!

I too am feeling my way through this protein stuff. I am day 3 post banding and having to force the liquids down. My daughter put my onto a drink from GNC called IsoPure that is all protein (no carbs). Has 40 gms of protein in 20 oz. So I am making sure I drink at least half of one of these per day along with my 3 CIB shakes.

Each doc has their own requirements. Call your doc and ask him/her as everyone here is different, and he/she is the one who knows you the best and knows the procedure the best. Good luck...

I agree with Whitney. Also, you may want to post this question in the Lap band part of the board. Good luck!
