Talking Today Is My Rebirthday

I just looked at the calendar and realized a year ago today was my surgery date. I have lost 113 pounds in this year and have gone from a size 22\24 to a size 10. Thank you all for the support you have sent my way. It has made this road enjoyable and fun. Here are some pictures of me and my husband in Mexico last week. Love to all of you.

Talking What I ate then and what I eat now

For Weeks after my surgery I ate nothing but water and protein shakes. For 4 weeks after that I ate oatmeal, cream of wheat, low card yogurt, chocolate fudge myoplex low carb protein shakes and chicken broth. For the next 8 months I ate all the above but added in cottage cheese, Muster cheese, ground beef, cashews, grilled chicken and salad. I know it is not a lot of variety but I knew the scale would move and it kept me feeling full. I only took in 1200 calories a day no more than 25 grams of carbs a day and everything I ate had less than 10 grams of sugar in it. Lately since I am down to a 10 and only need to loose 20 more pounds I have expanded my diet. I have brought bread back as well as some deserts. I do exercise 4 to 5 days a week. I do 7 miles in 30 minutes on my elliptical machine. I am going to cut out the sweets and bread again so I can get the last 20 off! At least I know when I get to goal I can maintain my weight with the existing diet I have now. I am a food addict so I will go on binges. Right before my period I eat like a football player. This last for about 2 days. Then I look back on what I ate and go cold turkey. I have learned to accept this, there is no use in me fighting it so after I come down from my "bad" eating I get my but in gear and get back with the program.

This was something I did not and could not do before. I would eat really bad and tell my self well hell you already screwed up might as well eat what you want. No more of that nonsense. Now I say to my self, you like the way you look and NEVER want to go back to being where you were so put the cookie down or if I can not resist I eat 1 cookie. I will never be fat again. I hated shopping, I hated if an event came up, I hated looking in the mirror. Now I can not get enough of the mall. I have a job that has a base plus commission and I am motived like a sinking boat to hit that number so I can buy more clothes!!!! I love experimenting with make up. I love trying new hair styles. I bought a pair of knee high boots this weekend that I am wearing with a pair of black Capri pants and a argyle sweater. I would have not bee comfortable wearing that before. I am SO happy to be free. It brings tears to my eyes.

Thanks for listening. I know we all can get to the finish line. I am pulling for all of us.
