Well, what those people told you is right.
First of all, relax. You had surgery all of 2 wks ago...your body is still adjusting.
Secondly, how much water are you drinking? Are you getting in 64 oz a day?
Thirdly, exercise...are you doing at least 30 min. a day?
Fourthly (is that a word?)-what are you eating? I know it's hard to measure out your portions and eat low-fat. But try, really give it a shot. Lean protein first, then everything else. One of my favorite snacks is 2 pieces of turkey lunch meat wrapped around a piece of cheese.
I understand how it feels to be starving at 2 wks out. I was, too. In fact, I actually gained 5 pounds (after losing 18 the first two weeks) before I got my fill! I was snarfing food down like a madwoman. Then, to make matters worse, my first fill did nothing for me. And I was really questioning whether this had been a good decision. Luckily, I have found out that it really does make a huge difference to get a good fill. Now I start to eat...and if I eat too much my body rebels.
You will get there. Hang in there...we are rooting for you!
