Hi there, Welcome.
There are some lapbanders around here, but it's usually a little quieter on the weekends. Don't give up if you don't hear from someone right away. Use the search button at the top of the page, chances are, some of the questions you're thinking of have been covered. Put out some specific questions, and you might find someone who's gone through what you're experiencing. Good luck with your band!

Hi Java - welcome - yep the forum is slower on the weekends. Lunda is right - do as many searches as you're little heart desires, and if you can't find what you're looking for then post a specific question - someone here is bound to be able to help you put.
Best of luck on your journey

Hi, I just logged onto this site for the 1st time; I love the internet but too into chat rooms, etc..... am considering lap band surgery in July - wanting to prepare now for it - to build a good foundation. After 3 weeks what do you think of the whole process now that your surgery is done? Jen

I definitely wondered what I was getting myself into when I was on the liquid diet. That was the hardest two weeks I have ever gone through. It's tough to be so dependent on food and then not be able to have any. Now that I have had the surgery though, I feel about the same. I haven't lost any more weight since I had surgery and am waiting to have my first fill. I heard that will change everything. I'm proud of myself for going through this whole process and am oddly pround of my scars.

Lap Band
Hi, I had lap band surgery two months ago. I've lost 13 pounds and feel great! I can answer your questions.

Banded on Feb 15th!
Good to see other lap banders here! I was banded on 2-15 and like the other posting, I, too am proud of my tiny scars! I have a new lap band that has a 360 degree fill. My doc said it was baby blue. I've lost over 10 lbs since Feb. 7th--probably due to the liquid protein diet. However, yesterday I switched to the 'toddler' diet of mussy foods. Mussed veggies, really thin meat, mashed tatters, wow! Taste's great after all that liquid. My first fill is due on March 24th and I can't wait!! Also, I had a hiatal hernia repaired during my lap band surgery. Two for one deal! I feel so much better.
Are there any lapbanders out there that also ride a motorcycle????

Just had the band last Friday
I, too, just had the band put in last Friday...feel pretty good, sore on my side though...sitting for a long time can hurt as well. I have gone for a walk every day though and I am not hungry at all. It is interesting to see the difference in my desire to eat because I am bored rather than hungry. Trying to pay attentiion to that. I am excited about my journey.
Any tid bits anyone wants to share about the begining of their band journey I would love to hear it ...I am glad I found you all.
Starting weight 310/surgery weight 282/current weight 277
