Default For me...it was ok at first

With my TT and hernia repair done at once, I had several visitors and really can't remember them. I remember, but I wasn't laughing...just listening. I was in a lot of pain, but it was nothing like wls.

To this day, I have to hold my plastic to laugh. I will do anything to not sneeze because the stitches pull where the plastic is being held in place. I cringe at anyone who says they have the stomach flu and they come near me to get me sick. I can not vomit. It will tear me up inside and my plastic will burn for days...ouch.

I think with a normal TT, it is probably much easier. Kinda like a C-section. Just be sure to bring a pillow with you to hold onto in the car. This way the seat belt won't be directly on your surgical area. If you decide to laugh, put a pillow on your abdomen and hold it there. I do that when we laugh at funny movies. I have to say don't make me laugh..how sad, eh??

Okay Beth, We will be nice. I will have to resort to my MOther Teresa outfit. Since the porky pig Don Ho act is out. Be side if you get on the floor that you want, which I hope you get it. It will be like a Family reunion since all of use might have had the nurses on that floor from our surgery. But please tell me....Will they feed you instant Carnation to you since thats all they have there......
On a serious note,,,Beth you think you might need some of our Bariatric food on the floor....I have always been told that when you have surgery have high protein foods to speed the healing.... I was wondering since there might be a touch of pain...just a we little bit... some bars and protein torpedos might be better since you probably will not want a lot of food...Pain has a way of not inducing appetite!

I do plan on taking a supply of Bariatric food with me, Doug. I'm a little worried about what they will try to feed me there. As far as I know the hospital doesn't have a "bariatric" diet, pursee. I think the closest thing to it would be the 1200 cal. Diabetic Diet. I plan on requesting that. This is a concern for me and I hope to have a little chat with one of the hospital's nutritionists ahead of time. There is one who is often on the Burn Unit and I hope to talk to her to see what she advises. I do plan on seeing if I can get on the Bariatric Unit. I would just feel more comfortable there and it is is a quieter unit compared to the regular Med/surg floors. We shall see. And yep, I'm sure CIB will once again become a staple for me. I have a couple boxes at home and should probably stock up on more.

...hmmmmmm...I'm not sure Mother Teresa would be much better, Doug. *LOL*

does it still hurt dale? is it because your so skinny did they over tighten things? can you stand up straight? when you talk about the plastic will burn for days is it the scar from hip to hip that will burn is it like its pulling and tearing or what?
i am only a few weeks out but cant stand up straight as it pulls and starts to feel like is swelling and you can feel the tightness in my belly its kinda weird
