Default Leg cramps

Yesterday a couple times after i had been sitting for a while (in the car or on the couch etc) and i got up to walk around i got a cramping in my left calf .... alot like the begining of a charley horse. Of course i hate charley horses so i would stop for a minute to work them out and they would eventually dim and go away. Today everytime i sit for more than 5 minutes when i get up again i get the leg cramps. EVERY time! Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this or what i could do to fix it?

You should call your Dr.'s office.
Maybe it cold be a blood clot?
Better to be safe than sorry

Hope you start feeling better soon

I have to agree with Tawnie. You should let your doctor know. Blood clots can give you calf pain or some of your labs might be off. Get it checked out! Its best to be safe.

Is it red or warm in that area? I would call your DR. Sounds like a clot.

DEHYDRATION!! I know a lot of us think that we are doing pretty good on our liquids but different people have different requirements depending on how active you are or how much weight you are loosing. I had muscle cramps on and off for the first 2 months post surgery. Every time I increased my water intake, they went away. But I would talk to your doctor to be safe.

Are you taking your vitamins and minerals? Low calcium, potassium, or magnesium can also cause leg cramps.

I agree a call to your doctor....My husband gets this when he is not drinking enough water or low on calcium and magnesium...when he adds these into his diet, the leg cramps go away...but considering that you are a new post-op, I would be concerned about a clot..get it checked.
