Default 3 days after surgery

Well this is the 3rd day after surgery, my surgery was on Monday, May 8th... I find myself sore, and a little depressed ( probably from the medications) I am very tired alot...but 3 times a day a walk around my neighborhood, a little farther each time.. I am still nervous about drinking TOO much water and getting sick, even though I know I have too....and my other big fear, which might sound stupid but is blood clots, everyone says that I am out of the woods by now, but I still have such a fear. Well I just wanted to sum up my feelings, to see if any of you have expierenced any of the same feelings...I would love some advice or comments. thank you all.....

Welcome home !!! Since I am pre-op (May 30) don't have much advice for how you are feeling except to hang in there !!! From what I have been reading things get much better after that first week.

Contratulations on your WLS !!!

Hello,
I was very worried about blod clots also. What I did and what the Dr. told me was just get up and walk. Walk around the house walk around the block just every 30 min get up and walk for a couple of min. It eased my worries alot. Also you will hear this like a thousand times but let me be one of the first to tell you what your going through is very normal. You also will get better and better each day that goes by. It dosen't seem like that now and I didn't believe it either but it does.

Thank you so much, that is very inspirational...the depression thing is what is driving me nuts...I cry for no reason, its a reaction from the pain pump in the hospital, because I am not taking any pain meds. as of right now... I have always reacted to pain meds with depression, I guess thats just me...but thank you so much, and I truely believe it will get better each day...Thanks

Welcome to the losing side Jenna. What you are feeling is perfectly normal. There are a lot of hormonal things going on in your body. You walking everyday is great, it may also help with some of the dresspive feelings you may have. Jenna like you said "it will get better each day".

Jenna,
I was going to my support group meeting awhile before my surgery and there were alot of emotional people there....I was like(to myself) how could these people cry when something so great happened to them. Then I had my surgery and I cried as much and was depressed just like them. I knew then that I was ok everything is going fine because I am doing and feeling like everyone else. If you ever need to talk feel free to pm me anytime.

Jenna, I felt the same exact way after surgery! I was sooo worried about the blood clots I walked every chance I had--so don't feel stupid. Continue doing what your doing and your going to do great! I will be 3 months this Saturday and things really do get easier! Do you drink plain water? Because plain used to hurt at first (and still does a bit now) so I always drink flavored water.
