Default Support Groups

I just found this forum and glad I did. I am 8 months post op and have never attended a support group meeting. Had the bypass at Alverado Hosp in San Diego in Aug 2005, and I live in North San Diego County. Lack of attendance to support has never been the fault of The surgeon and staff, but simply driving to San Diego for a 7 pm meeting has never appealed to me. I have come to realize I have missed out a great deal by no being in contact with others who have been or are now experiencing the same life changes I am. Presently I have lost 90 # and feel VERY good about all of the changes that are happening, but realize there are questions that could be answered by others on the same path. Does anyone here know of a support group offered in North San Diego county? I would appreciate any information available.
Thanks
Marilee

I wish I had known about this web site sooner. I know I can talk to people that have had GP, and know that I Am not alone. I live in Ohio and there are no support groups in my area. I come to this forum to read what other people are going through. I am new also, but I feel like I finally belong.

Dr. Callery has a post-op support group every 3rd Thursday in the lobby at his office. Also, Rain has one at her house in North County. She posts when it is every month.

Welcome to the forum.

Marilee Welcome aboard. Glad you found us. There are a lot of ladies who live in North County and hold support group meetings at their homes. Just be on the look out for their post. I also believe it is on the calendar that we have here when their meetings are held.
