Default Give me SALT!!!!!

I have been craving salt like crazy. I started eating the Orville Redenbacker mini-popcorn bags. Good days, I eat 1 bad days I eat 3. I have come to the conclusion it is more about the salt than anything. Any ideas? I have still continued to lose weight though. Keeping my fat/calorie level down. I am just wondering if it will increase as summer's heat increases. I live in the Phoenix area. We are already over 90 and will be breaking that 100deg mark anytime now. One of my mine concerns of the WLS was for dehydration. I am trying to increase my liquids more each week. I usually average about 64oz. My Pre-surgery consumption was a gallon plus of water day.

My guess is that youre not eating alot of flavored/fancyish/seasoned foods Maybe try and spice up your meals and see what happens. I know, unless I am cooking a big dinner, that I dont spice up my food...its mostly just nibbles. Maybe youre just on a popcorn kick for now! I too eat the mini bags once in a while. On a more serious note, make sure the next time you visit your Dr you tell him/her if you are still craving salt. What about your labs, are they ok?

About once or twice a month I go through a salt craze. I chatting with a few others and I just eat about a 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds (in the shell) there are few calories in 1/4 cup, lots of salt and even a little protein. It helps me in other ways too (ie: #2). I dont need it often, but when I do, its a good alternative for me. Of course, it makes me thirsty too, but then I just drink more water...best of both worlds!

You are doing awesome in your weight loss there buddy....keep it up!

My name is Kristi and I'm a saltaholic. I love salt! I know it's bad for me but it's just so yummy...I put it on a half a lemon or on celery. Salty, spicey, sour things are what I crave...yuck to sugar give me salt!

I am just about to hit my two year mark and my first goal of being half the woman I was and I still love salt. My husband and I go to the movies once a week and my bad thing that I enjoy is a salted warm pretzel. I love them and nothing tastes so good. I also love soy sauce Bridget got me eating that over veggies and it is the best. The most important thing to me is to listen to what your body wants first. Believe it or not our bodies tell us what they want. Keep up the good work everyone.
