Question Sugar Free candy???????

Ok my husband made me a little basket for Easter with SF candy, reeses PB mini and almond joy all no sugar. So last night I had 2 of the SF reeses serving size is 5 but I didn't want 5 2 was good. They were so yummy. Well not 10 minutes later I was totally dumping! Sweats heart racing etc. I don't understand if it has absolutely no sugar why it is making me dump? I didn't even have a full serving size. Anyone else have this happen?

Ohhhhhhh man .. did it have sugar alcohol in it? That crap makes my pouch twist into an ugly, evil knot! It was way worse than any dumping I ever had! Sugar alcohol is the devil! I gave up on chocolate of any kind altogether after that

Sucks to have a bad easter candy day tho huh? sorry you had to experience that!

It could have been the fat content too. I know that fat makes me dump sometimes.

yes it is LOADED with sugar alcohol! 18 grams for 5 pieces 6 grams of fat. I thought since I only had 2 pieces I would be OK. Guess I better stick with the Godiva dark chocolate lol. That I can have 2 pieces of and be OK. But I do not keep it in the house so it is rare that I have it just a special treat!

Robin , I have found that bryers no sugar added ice cream makes a wonderful laxitive..........rofl! fluff and all!

I can't do real sugar either, just as well! Makes me sick as anything. I was stupid on Psalm Sunday and had 2 home made choc. covered strawberries on an empty pouch!

There are different sugar alcohols and they all treat your body differently. he sugar alcohol that is maitol (misspelled) can cause you to also have cramps & lose bowls. You have to be really careful with that. When I was locarbing there was a big discussion on a locarb board regarding the effects of it. For me, my body processes the sugar alcohols in those reeses just as if it was real sugar so I can't even try to eat one now.

I think I am just better off staying away from all of it. It makes me feel so sick I just want to crawl in a hole I really do not crave it , but it was so nice that he thought of me and wanted to make sure that I had a little something for me also. I told him to next time make me a fresh fruit salad thats my absolute FAV!

I haven't had that kind of heart pounding reaction......but I get bad cramps and ummmm, yeah, like Robin said...."fluff". I rarely eat anything with sugar alcohol now. I stick to a few peanut M&M's, a few almond kisses, a few bites of dark chocolate, 100 cal cookies, pizzelles, graham crackers, etc. I just buy regular products that aren't loaded with sugar and control my servings. In one way it's a bummer, cause they make the stuff taste decent now......but I guess it keeps me from the excess calories and fat I don't ned.
