Dave,

I feel the same in the way of gratitude. You sound like you are doing awesome......following those rules to get healthy. Your weight is going to be flying off you so fast that you won't even recognize yourself. Keep it up Dave!!

Default I missed you!

I am so glad to see your post! I was wondering how you were doing. Sheesh, I mean it hasn't even been two weeks yet, right?? I think you are doing great to be walking and drinking - an inspiration.

Take care dear. We're all here for you!

Thumbs up

Dave,

Glad to hear that all is well and welcome to the losing side. When you eat grapes, are you peeling them? I was told to peel them in the beginning and wanted to pass that along to you. Sound like you are off to a great start.

Almost 2 weeks buddy . . . I promise it gets better with every day . . . I even ate at a restaurant today!! Just take care of yourself while you are off work - it does it a bit harder at work - I hadn't made it through the day without a nap when I went back to work. It took me 'til week 4 to have energy . . . so hang in there . . . .

Unhappy Something wicked this way comes!! (long)

Hi all my friends,
Well, it has been an interesting week...
Since the operation I have been struck with some real weird nausea. I can keep some stuff down, but most comes back up.
Wednesday of last week I started coming down with Bronchitis again...The coughing does not help with the nausea! I was not able to keep down dinner that night. Thursday morn I was feeling ok, but still had that chest wheeze and cough, so I started back on the liquid diet. That night I got sick again and it seemed like everything I had that day came back up!
Friday I felt a little worse, contacted my PCP who didn't think it was as bad as it turned out to be. He wouldn't see me, nor would he call anything in the pharmacy for my cough. Later that night I coughed up everything, including water that I had been drinking. About 9:30 Friday night I had a migraine & a fever of 102! Fever & migraine broke about 3am on Saturday and I was finally able to get some sleep. Woke up at 9am Saturday feeling wonderful, so I decided to take the kids to the local Springfest at the Rec Center. We stayed until about 2pm. I started feeling sick about noon. We got home at 2 and I started puking for the next hour. So I called Kellie at Dr. C's office (I thought that my previous problem was back) she asked me to go to the ER at Pomerado.
I arrived at 5:30, was in the room by 6, had my blood drawn and they decided that I needed to have a bunch of tests & was dehydrated. They ran the tests (CT of the stomach & bowel) and at 2am, decided to keep me overnight for observation.
The next morning I was visited by Dr Potts. He said that my white count was real low so they were going to admit me so they could flood me with fluid and antibiotics.
Sooooo....6 bags of fluid, 4 different antibiotics (8 different bags), Dr. C comes in on Monday said they thought I had a internal bacterial infection, but nothing showed up on the CT, & a different blood test showed that it was a nasty viral infection!
I don't need to spend another night in the Hospital!!! Hurray!!! He sent me home with 2 different antibiotics.
Thank GOD that there was nothing wrong with the new pouch or the surgery site.
And how was your weekend??

Now Dave - I say this because I love you - that was not a fun way to spend the weekend!!!! I am so sorry you had to go through that, but I am glad to know nothing is wrong with your pouch, and what you have can be treated with antibiotics. I hope you feel better really soon.

So sorry to hear you had such a rough weekend Dave, but glad to hear you're feeling better and that you didn't have to spend too long in hospital.
Take good care of yourself
