After I eat, discomfort and no aunt flo....
Well, everything has been going quite smoothly for the past month or so until the past few days. The past three days, whenever I eat. 35-40 minutes after eating, I start getting discomfort (cramping like you feel when diarhhea is coming on). I usually go#2, but not diarhhea, so then i still have discomfort for another 20 minutes or so. So, this feeling usualy lasts about a 30-45 in all everytime after eating. So....since this is a new thing....is a just a picky pouch? I've been eating a variety of diff. foods at meals the past couple of days....soup/chicken/peas/fruit&yogurt, etc. so i don't think it is a problem with one particular food, maybe just all food right now.
Also, I'm about 5 days "late". Is this normal with all the body changes right now? I assure you that I have no "reason" to be late right now
I'm 9 weeks about by the way.
Sorry this is graphic, but if i want to get some answers, i have to explain it!
Thanks everyone, I love this board!
Stephanie

Hi. I really can't make any suggestions as far as the food goes. I know that I'm 5 weeks post op and there are still things that just do not settle well with me. At the clinic I had my surgery at, they told me to expect that some foods will never sit well again, and to try them again later if they bothered me when trying them for the first time post-op.
On the other note, I just had my first cycle post op. I had surgery on the 6th of March and was due on the 25th of March, but didn't start until just yesterday. I was very, very late and it's awful, being very crampy and heavy. I don't know if that's normal, but I do know that even having a cold can make a woman late. Our bodies are very touchy when it comes to that, and the slightest things can make us late. I'm sorry I don't have any more info to share with you, I hope this little bit helps!

Regarding aunt flo....the hormone changes with the weight loss make what will happen with your cycles unpredictable. Some people skip, more frequent, heavier, lighter. During this time of flux just go with it. There is a new normal in town.

Dyann thanks for posting that. I have been on a period for the past 2 weeks. I thought I was preggers or something-yeah you would think I would worry if it was NOT here, but anything strange going on down there and I think the worst!

I have been spotting for the last 2 months with ovulation. I have had tons of ultrasounds in the past (my husband is a radiologist) and know I have fibroids, but it wasn't until the hormone changes with this surgery that they are making any issues. We need estrogen to stabilize our uterine linings and with the decrease in rapid weight loss (because fat makes estrogens) it doesn't act like it should. I am waiting another 2 months or so for the weight loss to slow and see how I readjust before getting alarmed.
My first period after surgery was 10 days. Prior to surgery, I was like clockwork and had two pregnancies without any fertility issues and hormone imbalances. Now, I am all over the place.....but thinner!!!!!

BC after surgery?
Going with the "flow" of this thread......Before surgery I regulated my periods with birth control pills...Because of surgery I have had to go off them. How long before you were allowed to go back on them? My doctor will getback with me for his recommendationon Monday but I was just wondering what the standard was?

I was back on the pill maybe 2 weeks out and that was just because I didn't feel like taking them before then.

I've never even heard anyone having to go off BC pills prior to surgery...??? I'm curious as to why.

BC increases the risks of blood clots.
