Michelle, that describes my loss perfectly. I lose about 10 to 15 pounds and sit on it for 2 to 3 weeks. I just started my 4th sitting still thing since surgery on Jan 24. I am getting accustomed to it and not fretting about it at all. It's the body's way of adjusting, but it is not a plateau -- just an adjustment. During that time, my body is losing inches and making adjustments to catch up with the loss. It is very common.

Thumbs up Thank you ladies!

Well by the looks of it I guess I'm doing just fine with my 3# a week loss . Thank you all who responded. I just needed reassurance that I'm on the right path with the weightloss. I don't know what I'm whinning about I've never had such a steady loss of 3#s ever! So I am thankful I'm even losing that much.

You are doing great. As long as you follow the rules most of the time...you'll get there. Congrats on the success you have had so far.
marty that still works out to about 2.7 lbs per week - which i think 2-4 lbs per week is the average i have lost 71 lbs since my surgery -on the day of surgery i was 225 today at almost 6 months out (I will be 6 months in 4 days) I weigh 154 so my average per week is 2.9 over the last 6 months...(unless i lose more in the next 4 days...i really want to lose the 5 lbs before 6 months so i can be at 149 for my 6 month that would give me a 76 lb lose in 6 months & an average of 3.2 lbs per week in 6 months... i dont think i will lose 5 lbs in 4 days but i did a few months ago so it could happen...

Default Averages

I love trying to keep track of my averages. I'm 14 weeks post-op and I've averaged a weight loss of 5.86 pounds per week.

Just keep in mind that you are doing great and 3+ pounds is terrific. I know my average is directly related to that I was/am so much bigger and the bigger we are, the quicker we loose.

I will also sadly admit that this weight loss is without any real regimented exercise other than occasional arm exercise with weights. I've been busy with wedding plans and haven't been doing my walking like I should.

The wedding is April 29th and I am already daydreaming of all the stuff I will make myself do after that. I want to swim more, walk more, lift weights more, hike more, DANCE more, etc.

Well lets see,I was 315 when I came home from the hospital and now I am 292 and I am 3 weeks post op, so 23 pounds divided by 21, wow 1 pound a day almost. Mind you I gained 12 lbs. while in the hospital from all of the fluids. I walk almost on a daily basis, most of the time it's twice a day. Looks like I wont be walking today though. It's raining.

Thanks Doris for the encouragement and congratulations on your wedding--wooowooo-April is a great month for weddings. Today my hubby & I celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary.
Anyhoot, I was looking at Marty's breakdown of pounds lost monthly and now that I think about it...I'm not doing so bad.
Month 1--23#s
Month 2--12#s
I don't know why I thought the weightloss was going to be a lot more rapid then what it actually is.

Well, yeah, but I don't like to do averages because they can be deceiving. If you averaged me in the first 2 months it would have been like 5 lbs a week average, but of course it slowed. One month it would have averaged 1/2 lb per week. I know what you mean about wanting to be a certain weight by a certain point. I had set April 1 as a goal to be at 160, but it took me til a few weeks later to hit that. I try not to get overfocused on actual pound goals because I don't always know if my body is gonna shake out 2 lbs or 10! I try and keep my mind on following the rules.....but it's hard not to be sidetracked by the scale and clothing sizes and all. That stuff is just so tangible. But I do feel fantastic, and I know I am ok.....as long as I keep on going. You too are doing awesome! Good job girl.

I lost 25# before surgery and 22.5 pounds since surgery, so I will always figure in the amount before, but for the weekly average since surgery, I will work with the 22.5: am 5 1/2 weeks out, so thats an average of 4.1 pounds per week. Averages are just that - averages, and need to be re-done over and over again depending on how far out you are

Thumbs up Average Loss per Week?

I just had my three month check-up yesterday and I have lost 42 pounds so I think we are right on track! I have joined Curves and go three times a week and this has really helped me lose inches. I joined in February and have lost 14 3/4 inches so far.
