I hate food
I seem to be going through this stage where I absolutely hate eating. I am never hungry and if I don't force myself to eat something, I can go all day without eating and not notice until I start to feel weak. I am still drinking plenty of water, and putting the unflavored Unjury protein in my Crystal light, so I know I'm getting at least protein and water. But I hate to eat. When its been several hours - I'm thinking oh my god I have to eat again. I'm 9 weeks post op. I'm not really having problems with nausea, I've thrown up a couple of times but that was from eating too fast. Food is just totally unappealing. I NEVER in my whole life thought that I could feel this way about food, because I've always loved it so much. Now it just seems like work to make myself eat. Is this normal? If you have had a similar problem, is there anything you did that helped, other than just force yourself to eat something because you need to? How long should I expect this to last?

I have been having the same problems. It didnt help that I had a stricture though. Every time I went to eat it came up so that put me off of food even more. I can feel it in my body though now that I need to eat. It has been going on for a few weeks now and I am finally getting to the point where I find myself looking in the fridge for something to eat. So I am starting to finally eat again. Just try to get in all of your protein and water and eventually you will be eating again. Hope this helps a little bit. Just know that you are not alone!

It's weird, isn't it? What you're going through is entirely normal, IMO. I ate mostly soup for the first couple of months - that was about the only thing that went down all right.
I think I was about 3 months our before I had any actual interest in food. But, I have to say, even though I'm now 7 months out, I still don't get all that hungry. If what others have said of their experience is any guide, I'm sure that will change for me in the not too distant future.
I think all you can do is experiment and find what works for you and then go with that.

Felicia,
I'm 10 weeks postop and have been going through the same thing! I find I don't really want to eat so I force myself to stick to a schedule. It has gotten some better over the last couple of weeks but I'm finding I can only eat one meat meal a day, otherwise my pouch gets really cranky! I've been sticking with yogurt, cottage cheese, soup, chili, SF Inst. Breakfast and string cheese. It I eat those kinds of things for breakfast and lunch I find supper goes MUCH better. Don't stress too much. Just do the best you can. If you have to go back to the soft food for awhile, so be it. It will get better. I'm sure of it.

I am 10 months out and I still do not have any hunger. I keep waiting for it to return. Try eatig soft things like cottage cheese ricotta cheese etc. Sometimes we just need to retrain our pouch to like food and we need to understand that this too will pass and it is OK. Just keep trying a little at a time and supplement with protein drinks so you will have stregnth and feel OK.
I just also wanted to add to try new flavors so you don't get boared. I find if something does not taste great I will not eat it. I add SF jam to my ricotta and cottage cheese. You can also add some pasta sauce and heat it up with some mozzerella cheese melted on top.mmmmmmm

I felt the same way. It passes.
There are more tasty proteins out there. I am having Crystal Light Lemonade mixed with Syntrax Nectar Roadside Lemonade and I could drink it all day.
Take a look see at BariatricEating.com to see what they have and then shop around for prices.
It gets a lot easier. I am 2.5 months post op and eat - rack of lamb, filet mignon, crab legs, lobster, shrimp, salad, etc... I can't eat much of it, but I eat it and try to keep it as low fat as possible.
So far (as of today) I have lost 53 pounds and feel great!
Patience new jedi.... ;-)
