Question Coated Bayer baby aspirin???

My Dr took me off the blood thinner injections and told me to take one Bayer baby aspirin a day. They are specially coated to not dissolve in the stomach but to dissolve in the small intestine. Does anyone else here take these? I am still a little concerned about it hurting my pouch. Any help is greatly appreciated

Here is the link to more info on it

As you are pregnant, check with your doctor of course, but if concerned, take an OTC zantac with it. I took zantac throughout my entire pregnancy without any problem and you are well past the point of it causing any genetic mutations. See what your MD thinks...or maybe a tums with the aspirin.

Thank you Dyann. My OB is the one who told me to take it. But my stomach has been acting up so I have not done so as of yet. Not sure if it is a tummy bug or a cranky squished pouch. I am calling my surgeon today just to be on the safe side!

Sounds like you're going to do what I was going to suggest. I just know my surgeon really lectured us about never taking any aspirin postop. I think, to be on the safe side checking with your surgeon is the best idea.

Thank you Beth. I am just waiting for the surgeon to call me back. I never seen specially coated aspirin that dissolves in the intestine instead of the stomach. If it works then it is a great thing for us!

My surgeon called and gave me the A-OK to take the specially coated aspirin. He said just to be sure to take a full glass of water with it so it gets flushed out of my pouch. Other than that all is well! I also got my steroid shot. Maybe I should hit the weights and build me some pythons before the baby comes! roflmao!
