Default Soup question

My husband likes Chinese food, and I know that the rice (and a lot of the food) is bad, but he likes company when he eats.

Tell me - is the hot and sour soup okay, or the egg drop? I would like to be able to eat something when he goes to restaurant!

I had surgery 10 days before you, but I ate kung pao shrimp about a week ago...a tiny amount and it went down fine! I brought Robin some Egg Drop soup and some Wan Tan soup the first week she was out of the hospital...I think she just drank the broth. Just stay away from the rice and the stuff that is fried and I think you will be fine.

I agree. You should be fine. Eat small bites and see how it goes down. I would stay with liquids though (i know you are tired of it). I had miso soup at a week out. very yummy and very easy to eat(drink). Stay away from rice. You will want to die if you eat anything that solid. I had 2 bites of white rice one month post op and it was hell. Good luck!

Hot and Sour Soup was the first thing I ate after I got the call from Kelly saying that I could have full liquids. I was delicious and I didn't feel sick at all from it. In fact, I was bad and ate a couple of pieces of the tofu out of it. No ill effects from that either!

Bye the way, I just finished eating a bowl of Hot & Sour Soup. Yum Yum Yum

How come nothing solid yet, she's more than a month out, right. I'm a little over 2 weeks out and I can have some solids.

I was eating Miso Soup at 2 weeks out and egg drop soup at 4 weeks out. It went down really well. I really don't think you'll have a problem. I also think the Hot & Sour Soup would be fine too. Enjoy!
