Default I love food.. is that bad!?

So I'm actually learning how to cook.. me cook? i know weird right? Well my sister taught me how to make turkey chili the way my tastes buds like it! SO good. Well today I decided to make a one egg white omlet with the turkey chili and half a slice of cheddar cheese! WOW! Amazing. I don't know what it is, but i never would have made that before surgery. Things just tastes so good, and feels so good going down. And now I have so much food sitting in the fridge just calling my name. Yesterday I went to rubios and got a side of chicken breast, and beans with cheese. Yeah I took that home! LoL. I need to stop eating out cuz i have too many left overs. But is this normal to love food and the taste, i know before surgery i may have taken the flavor factor for granted.. but id rather have a little taste of flavor than quantity. I only eat one meal a day (my doc suggests 1-2 meals a day for i think 1-3 or 1-6 months). But boy that meal is great! Im just really enjoying this surgery. I went to Acapulco last week (2nd time out to eat) just ate my friends beans and one slice of chicken from her faitas.. didnt pay anything. SO weird! Ok im rambling sorry.. just wanted to talk!

You are so not alone, since the surgery I found out that I had lost my best friend (Food). I daydream about a nice plate of rolled tacos or a nice deep dish pizza. I'm only 12 days post op. So I have not had the opportunity to enjoy any real solid foods yet, however this morning I did have some grits with butter, salt, pepper. I think that was a big No no. My pouch hurts so bad. But yes I have to say the taste buds seem to be much more in tune to flavor now.

kristi....

I am surprised you only eat once a day! I have never heard of a doctor saying to do that. It is amazing all the different approachs the doctors have.

in the beginning months i didnt like food i got sick a lot because of a stricture & eating to fast too - but now i am back to loving food - i get scared - because - i love food so much and after i eat within 30 minutes i could usually have more - i generally dont but i have caught myself grazing so be careful to not over eat after you are further along

I love good food, even more so now. Yes, eating may not be appetitizing, but quality food is divine!

I can definately see the line now between tasting and enjoying your food and eating until it doesn't taste.
