Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your surgery. The pain lasted about a week for me post-op. Initially I had a lot of pain just from all of the gas that they pump into you during a Lap RNY. Once that resolved I felt quite a bit better. I had a liquid diet after surgery for 2 weeks. It wasn't too bad because I wasn't hungry. My surgeon uses specific bariatric products that I bought through his office to use post-op. That was really nice because I didn't have to think too much about what I was going to eat. I only had like 4 choices. . They consisted of high protein meal replacement type liquids, primarily protein drinks or a high protein jello. It went okay until about the last 2 days before my appointment. Suddenly I just couldn't take another drink of that stuff!! I neede some REAL FOOD! *l*. I'm sure it didn't help that I had also been on the same product for 2 weeks before surgery too so I was really sick of it. I did use SF popsickles and SF Jello quite a bit when I really craved something that didn't taste like a supplement. Just hang in there. They don't call that first week "hell week" for nothing. If the weather is good get out and take a walk. Get yourself out a bit. I found it really helped. Good luck on your new journey.
