It's true that you may have problems, but you don' know until you try. You'll have to start sometime. Take small bites and chew well. Don' drink with your meals.

Yup, I was scared too at first. Just take it slow and start with something like mashed potatoes or refried beans. It gets easier and I haven't vomitted so it's not true--not everyone vomits. I think the vomitting occurs when you overeat or eat something you are not supposed to. Good luck and go for it! You need the nutrition for your new body.

if you chew everything to the consistency of applesauce before you swallow it, and if you just take your time, you should be fine.

Just start of very, very slow...chew well and start by taking one small bite and then wait 2 minutes before your next one...slowly reduce the wait time between bites. Vomiting does happen with some, but follow all the rules to reduce that risk. I still find the first 2-3 bites a little difficult...then it settles down and lets me eat. You probably won't feel full, so measure what you eat. I am not sure what the doc told you, but I started off with one oz. and am now up to 1/4 or 1/3 cup and I am 9 weeks out. Don't be scared.

I was scared at first too, even though the first two weeks of liquids went so well, it seemed that at 2 weeks out I suddenly lost my appetite and nothing tasted good. I just made sure I took things slowly and added only one new food a day. I haven't thrown up at all but there are times that my stomach really hurts. When that happens I just stop eating to see if it will pass, it often does and then I can take a bit more. Just don't try a new food away from home, if you can help it.

I was scared also because of what I heard about vomiting. But like the ladies said above. Take small bites...use a baby spoon if you have to and make sure you chew your food up very well. Do not eat fast and don't try to eat too much. You might only be able to hold 2 to 3 ounces right now so give yourself the 20 to 30 minute spread in order to eat your food. It allows your stomach time to give you the full feeling without you over stuffing yourself. Also do not drink 30 to 45 minutes b4 and after eatting.
I haven't experienced any vomiting or dumping thank goodness...I pray the same for you
