Hi Phil,
There have been times now when the only reason I eat is to survive and get the nutirents in. I am like you and never forgot to eat. As a matter of fact I was always thinking of the next meal and what I was going to eat. I also thought about what snacks I could squeeze in between and what I could have for dessert. Oh, how are lives have changed.

Default Me?? Forget a meal??

Yep, I also was one of those who was always thinking of the next meal. But who would of thought I am not even hungry now, which can cause another problem, but won't worry about that for now. So far, don't even miss anything, except maybe a diet pepsi would be nice (Ouch!, I bet that would hurt). Glad your surgery went well Hap Bird. So far, I'm doing just fine. Had my on the 24th.

Smile You'll soon remember

Up until very recently I would never get hungry (post op that is) but now.. I am starting to feel hungry.. and I am eating more.. enjoy this period.. they don't call it a honeymoon for nothing.. lol

I haven't gotten to the real growling stage like before surgery.. but I can tell sometimes that I am hungry.. I think I am eating too much too.. but I think that could be psycological too.. dunno.. guess I should start tracking what I am eating and see how I rate..

Either way enjoy this time while you have it.. it doesn't last forever.. unfortunately..

My head knows this is how it works, but my tummy is excited at actually experiencing "forgetting to eat" - never thought I'd be (even for a little while) one of those people (never COULD trust them!) who claim to 'forget to eat' - seems like forgetting to breathe!

Oh, well. Glad I'm NOT hungry just now - the just-finished clear liquids days would have been miserable if I was.

Had my first protein shake today -(mixed Costco chocolate 22gm protein mix with 4 ice cubes and half a cup of raspberry Crystal Lite) tres yummy ! Drank it S-L-O-W-L-Y just to be sure it'd go down okay - and it did.

Costco, I love you!

I know if I forget to eat, I get this gurgly, grumbly feeling..and sometimes my blood sugar bottoms out, so I keep some peanut butter crackers or a protein bar in my purse or van just in case. It is easy to forget, but now it's so important to get those nutrients in. It's funny because sometimes I'll take my vitamins or a Tums...and I say to myself..."good grief...I JUST ate a tums....now I have to eat food????" It's fun when the weight melts off...I feel like the witch on Wizard of Oz...I'm mellllltinggggggggg!!!

Default It's weird, huh?

At my work, since we have an abundant supply of people to help/interview, coupled with the fact we are always short staffed, we have lunch partners that we are paired up with. (I don't like being paired, I like it when the have a minimum numbers of windows that must be open and you go to lunch as long as that # of windows are open after you close yours)

Anyway...

You can't go to break or lunch if that person isn't at their window. So everyone is almost fighting to see who goes first to lunch as we all forget and take late lunches just because we are so overwhelmed with a full lobby of people and long interviews.

I laugh when I tell my partner (whoever it may be) not to stress or worry and they can go whenever they please as I don't get hungry (yet) and I don't have to have my lunch by any time specific.

Needless to say everyone likes to be my lunch partner now.

Default Interesting path to popularity!

Maybe I'll try that when I get back to work. We all gather in the lunch room, but the office doesn't close, so we're always jumping up to deal with someone coming in the door.

From now on, MY lunch ain't gonna take long to eat, so I can be the main jumper-upper....
