Angry pill got stuck, well I think

Earlier today I took one of my vitamins and about 45 minutes later, the whole abdominal region was really off, then I wanted to vomit. Finally I did, but I only got, well what I call "foam", and no pill. But I definitely could taste it. Anyone have any experience of what to do if a pill get lodged or stuck? I tried drinking water, but did not seem to help. Thanks.

My surgeon will not allow us to take whole pills. We have to crush them or take liquid forms. Sorry to hear about your episode!

My dr. also has us on kids chewables...twice a day. The other pills are small and go down just fine. You might want to try chewables.

The strange thing is that these are the same ones I have been taking since I came home from the hospital. Weird, I guess I was unlucky, I tell you this, I have NO desire to take a pill or eat right now! Not a fun experience. Thanks for everyone input, I am on chewable vitamins, this was a prescription med.

Be careful, you may have scratched your throat and it might be sore for a few days. I can only do small pills, otherwise I chew them or crush them up. I think you are right, it may have been stuck...be careful.

I started taking pills after about 2 months. Probably your pill blocked your new stoma but it will dissolve. Surgeon gave me a little advice in case something ever got a little stuck. He said to try a swallow of Coke or Pepsi and many times the carbonation would bubble up and unlodge it.

That happened to me once about three weeks after my surgery with a small potassium capsule. It felt like it was stuck in my esophagus. It was horrible, after about fifteen minutes it went away. After that episode I always made sure I had several sips of water (to moisten my esophagus) before I took the pill and it didn't happen again.
