Scale is NOT moving at four week out!!!
OK, As far as I know, I'm doing everything right. I'm eatting small amounts of the right foods and excercizing more than I ever have in my intire life! But I'm really getting frustrated because the scale has not moved. In fact, It went UP a pound!!! I lost about twenty and then nothing!!
Am I doing something wrong? I didn't expect this to happen until around six months or so.

Its typical sugar pea. You havent done anything wrong. You can expect weightloss stalls and plateaus for up to the next 2 years. Feel good knowing that for the first 6 months this tool is virtually goof proof. So dont get anxious and having the scale dictate your self worth.... you didnt do anything wrong at all except get on that darn scale! Not sure where you love, but dont make me come get that scale from you... I have done it to others in the past. Give your self weigh dates.... me, I only weighed in when I went to see my surgeon, then only once a month after my 6 months, or at support group meetings. Stop the madness with your scale obsession and you will start feeling better right away... guaranteed! Good luck!

I am having the exact same issues, for two weeks now no weight loss. I only weigh myself once a week. The scale is not moving either. I realize that this seems to happen to a lot of people. Do you know of any medical reason this occurs? Has anyone seen any reference materials stating this.

When your body is scarce of nutrients, calories and fat it goes into hybernation mode. Google that topic and you will see what your dealing with. The best way to break it is to uptake calories for about 3 days then stop and go back to your regular eating pattern, this usually breaks the cycle! Good luck and look up the hybernation theory!

Not to sound like a BIACHHHHHH but people, measure your bodies. It's inches and lbs. If the lbs aren't coming off trust me the inches are!!

thats for the info, I will see what I can find. I always knew that you need to "zig zag" calorie intake to maximize fat depletion. Just didn't know if it applied to persons with WLS.

Here is some medical explanation for that:
a) The body realizes it is in starvation mode, and after a while, it says "Hey, this is too much, let's stop it for a while or use the resources more efficiently"
b) If you are exercising, you are building muscle mass, this weights, and adds up to your total body weight (naturally ! )
Now, if you (I do the same, so I don't blame you) weight yourself every week, that is not good, since this operation is based on long term results. My doctor tells me to weight myself every 3 months.. at least for the first year...

I understand what you are saying but when you are new to this process and you've just underwent a huge life change you expect to see changes ASAP. It scares you when you don't. You start to think you did this all in vain. I was scared sh*tless when I didn't lose for over a week. But I am now and I understand that plateus happen and eventually pass!

I wish you were correct, but measurements have not really changed either. I measure it once a week as well. I realize the actually "weight" issue with people on this site is very critical. However, most of us that are new to it are asking questions, as I imagine most of you did in the beginning. Scales on this site are voodoo, I guess.
