When to start Biotin?
I'm almost 4 weeks post-op and I'm now allowed to start swallowing my pills. I was wondering when you should start using the Biotin? I have very thin hair already and am anxious about the hair loss. I thought I would try the Biotin supplement. I know it may not prevent the hair loss but I figure it is worth a try. Even if it decreases it, I would be thrilled. I've noticed that most people start noticing the hair loss at around 3 months out. Do you suggest I start taking Biotin before I notice the hair loss or do you start it when you notice that you are losing hair?
Just curious. I'm a little confused.

I started taking Biotin about 4 weeks ago. I crush the pills in my mouth w/out problems. Im 12 weeks out and have yet to lose hair. But that doesn't mean I won't later. I started early to prevent from losing. I have very fine hair, already. Don't want to lose any.

Biotin will not hurt you. It not only helps with hair loss but helps you process the protein you intake much more efficiently. So, start it now.

I started taking it before surgery. My hair is thin also so I figured it wouldn't hurt. Last night at a support group meeting some of the women said they started losing around 3-5 months till about 8 months or so out. But they said thier hair came back and some said it was better. I was thinking about taking some vitamins for hair that have a combo of nutrients.. Still on the fence about that.

I found a sublingual Biotin that has 50 mgs. I bought mine at Henry's but check your local vitamin shops.
