Back Home on the Losers' Side
Good evening, all. Not sure you remember me but I'm the newbie who had surgery yesterday. I can't believe I'm already back home! I really appreciated all your words of support. They were all very helpful and I got through it with less anxiety because of them.
I thankfully was able to have my RNY by lap. It all went VERY smooth and even though I'm wiped out I'm not too sore as long as I keep up with the pain meds. I know there will be bumpy days ahead but with the support of all of you I'll make it through, day by day!
Beth

Thanks, Faith
Thanks! I'm working at taking care of me. It is definitely time to be a bit selfish and let hubby take care of the house. Now that's a scarey thought! Just kidding, actually he has been a doll. I'm SO GLAD I have him.
Time for bed. Looking forward to hopefully a full night sleep.
Beth

Welcome to the losing side Beth. Why is it they sent you home so early? As long as you are feeling fine that is all that matters. Get plenty of rest.

Thanks guys!
Denise, most of Dr. Baker's patients are home in 1-2 days, as long as he was able to do the surgery laproscopy. My pain is under control, I'm keeping my liquids down, labs are all good and JP drain is out. YIPPY! I know I was shocked too when I heard it is usually an over night stay! But I totally trust my surgeon. I know he knows his stuff and has an excellent record...so here I am.
Got almost a full night sleep last night. 6 wonderful hours! I even woke up minus the usual knee and back pain! (Must be that Loratab I'm taking. )
Well off to SIP my water, protein drink and chew, chew, chew my vitamins. Good ole' Flinstones.
Thank you all for the well wishes.
Beth
