Default Dumping Question

OK...I have a major question. I will be 4 months out on Saturday. I am down 85 lbs and am feeling very good.

Here is the question...I have never DUMPED like what people describe on here and the people I know who have had the surgery.

I have had 4 episodes but they feel like my chest is going to explode and I feel like I can't breathe. I feel that way for about 20-30 minutes. I just breathe really short until it goes away. I have linked these 4 times to Lemon juice and Wal-Mart brand of Crystal Light. Could this be my dumping? I have not drank anything except water and tea since before Christmas and have not had any chest spells.

I am scared to try any sugar or fried foods because I DO NOT WANT TO BE SICK!!! Which I guess is good because that means the tool is working I was just wondering if this is dumping or if I have something else worse to look forward too.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I think this forum is WONDERFUL!!! Ya'll really help me through some rough times just because I can get on and know there are others going through the same things as me!

Sounds like you may have dumped since you can identify what has caused your chest pains. My understanding is that each person dumps differently, and from different things...

I think the dumping experience can be different for different people. In addition, I think each of us tolerate dumping differently. While I might nearly faint and have to lay down for 30 mins, you might just feel a little light headed and goofy. And the specific food/drink might cause dumping to be different too. I might get heart palps after trying to eat half a piece of cake or just get super tired and need a nap after eating one too many bites of mashed potatoes.

I can say that when I dump, I definitely know it. It may be my own experience, but maybe you just haven't eaten anything to cause a major dump.

Here's to hoping you remain dump-less!

Yeah dumping isnt fun.If I feel something in my chest is because I didnt chew it well enough and it gets stuck, which feels like I would think a heart attack would feel If I eat sugar I sweat and feel faint for about 20min.If I eat to fast/to much I feel real sleepy & lay down for 20min or so.
So its good your staying away from the fried foods & sugar. Its not fun!!
Ive learned my lesson no sugar for me & I slow down & chew chew chew!!!

Well i felt it for the first time my hubby and i went for a couple of drinks in our local pub and i was very good i didn't touch a drop of alcohol, but i did have 3 glasses of cordial over a period of 3 hours, the only thing is i have been used to sugar free juice and this was full of sugar.
The next day felt like i had one mega hang over. LOL in fact when my mother in law called she didn't believe that i didn't have a drop.
I can laugh now as i know never to touch the stuff again.
It is all trial and error and in time we all find out what we can and can't handle.

no it is just a strong juice (all sugar with an orange flavour) was very tempted to add some vodka too it.
Remember i am in the UK and we call things different over here. some of the foods that i read on here i have never heard of. LOL.

Ah yes, the two people divided by a common language again! What foods haven't you heard of? Maybe I can describe it so it will be more familiar?

I don't think I've ever dumped either. At least not the way people describe it. I've eaten too much, too fast, or not chewed enough, and was able to feel better by throwing up. But I've never had the light headed, dizzy, etc symptons.
