Default left side pain

last night my left lower abdominal area started to hurt. just all of a sudden. Then the pain went to the left back area. after 1 -2 hrs it started to feel better. this morning things were fine and now the pain is back. i had my surgery in june and never had this before. any suggestions or experiences? I am thinking it could be gas but does not feel like it.

Have you gone #2? Most left side abdominal pain is a result of gas.....

It could be your kidneys. Are you having any pain or seeing any differences in your urine when you use the restroom? (Sorry, you don't have to answer that here, just think about it...)

It could be gas but if it continues I would suggest contacting your PCP or your surgeon to get it checked out.

I would be worried about a kidney stone if it doesn't pass. If you are moving your bowels and passing gas, it probably isn't intestinal. Consult your MD.

I had something like that after my WLS and I slept with a heating pad. My pain went away and never came back. Don't know if will help you but it is worth a try.

Default just my two cents

Any time I've had serious, unrelenting pain on either side that I felt on one side my lower back, it was a kidney stone--I've had about five of 'em now. If it doesn't go away soon, you should seriously get checked out.

I agree with you Dyann and Lisa. Kidney stone pain generally starts in the back and travels to the front. I have had 3 dozen kidney stones in my life, and had to have some serious repair surgery when one slit my ureter open. It's a very restless pain--you can't move enough to get comfortable. And there just aren't enough drugs to get rid of the pain. But hopefully it's just gas--are you farty??
