Hi Megan,
I have the same program. It is called Weight by Date and the guy that owns the company is called Brad. His phone # is 919 303-3455. It installs on your computer and if you have an IPAC or Palm Pilot you can also install info there and have it with you at all times. I have been using it for a year and it is unbelievable what it does for you. If you have any other questions let me know.

If they are sugar free what is the problem? It's just koolaid with ice.. I allow myself as many of them a day as I want. It sure beats eating a box of cookies each night. Suzy

Sweetie I didn't have a popsicle, I had 13 popsicles that day! There are days when I eat more then that.

Ok BUT your daily calories are still under 1000. Are you drinking all your water? It does not look like the popsicles are a lot of calories. What if you made them yourself with crystal light? They sell the forms in walmart.

Cravings are a good thing....it's your body's way of telling you it needs something. The difficulty arises in the interpretation of those needs. Are you hungry, tired, thristy, sluggish, happy, sad, mad, bored etc? When you can figure out what your body is saying, then you can make a choice on what to do about the craving. You can wait it out, substitute a different activity, reflect on it, indulge if you believe it's appropriate in moderation, or obsess over it. Sometimes the fear and obesssion over the craving is the culprit, not the craving itself. Since this is bothering you so much, it's a good idea to seak some help. Even if you visit mental health professional once a month or two, it may help you discover the underlying issues.

Since your caloric intake is low....I suspect that your body is screaming for more sustanance. You need some carbs in your diet. I could see on there aren't any complex carbs...veggies, whole wheat, oatmeal, or grains on your snapshot. Also, relying on SF foods cause false cravings. Perhaps, part of the obession you feel is that maybe you're trying to control it too much.

I struggle with wanting to "carb munch" on salty snacks. At the same time I struggled with getting my fluids. I am in the process of switching my addiction from snacks to hot tea. It's going pretty well so far..........found lots of teas that taste so good I feel indulgent, and especially love flavors that go well with dry milk and/or regular skim milk. Shopping for them and drinking them has become almost like a hobby to me. My newest additions are rum flavors from the Bahamas.......mmmmm banana rum! Now I get plenty of fluids and a little less popcorn and crackers. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that struggles...........but as for the SF popsicles.......I'd count them low cal liquids and indulge!

Honey 13 popsicles are not going to be a big deal.. or 50 of them. There are some days that I eat a whole package, and others I eat none. Try not to beat yourself up. That is my problem, beat myself up and then I get the fuckits.. and that results in bad behavior towards myself. So I have stopped that cycle and now I just accept my eating is the best I could do for the day. I never was a snacker.. just an overeater.. so I tend to not sit and snack on stuff. Maybe you can put a limit on the times you can snack or graze, and stop at 3PM or something like that. I wish you the best with conquering this problem. Suzy

The snapshot of your daily intake is only 948 calories. Now I understand that you have not reached your goal but at that daily intake your body is definately going to crave something especially if you are doing any physical activity at all.And at that caloric intake I dont think you need to feel guilty unless it is the habit you are concerned with.If this is the case then maybe you need to talk to a nutritionist about changing what you are eating and snacking on.Maybe then your body will not crave and will be satisified.

I would be concerned with that caloric intake if you are doing a fair amount of exercise as when you meet your goal you could run into other problems that could be very serious.

I really need to thank each of you for your responses here. You've all given me lots to think about.

Marie I think you hit the problem dead on. I need to take a long hard look and try to interpret the food cravings a bit better.

Marty the flavored hot teas might just be the answer. I'll explain more in a bit.

Damon, you are also right. I'm not concerned about the calories here. I'm concerned about the behavior.

Suzy I'm sure I could do better and that's what has me worried. I'm falling into old patterns. Granted it's sugar free but it's still a repeating of past history that got me fat in the firsr place.

Amber and Gina I am going to look for a good therapist and see what insight they can offer me into this problem.

Everyone else who has answered here. You've pointed out that I'm not alone in this struggle and for that I am forever grateful.

I paid close attention to my cravings yesterday and so far this is what I learned. I think I am substituting ice pops as water intake.

I am not drinking water. Seven months out and water still cramps me up. Yet I can drink crystal light, protein drinks, propel without a problem. I believe now it's not hunger but thrist.

So here's what I'm planning on trying. Take in more fluid when the craving hits then wait and see it that doesn't quiet the need.

I believe the water issue has been a head issue because yesterday I mixed a packet of splenda into the glass and had no problem drinking it.
No cramps, no nothing....Go figure.

So again I want to thank each of you for your help here. I suddenly don't feel so alone in this matter.

Thank You !

There's another thread on the forum about the fact that plain water seems to hurt a lot of us. I can drink it in a pinch, but it hurts my pouch. Tea or any kind of flavoring, really, seems to stop that from happening. Not sure why, but it does seem to be a recurring problem for a lot of us. Ice pops were just your liquid of choice, it seems.
