SALAD - Give me more SALAD!!!
I can KILL some salad now. It goes down so well and tastes so good and I can eat a good amount of it. I have been making some kitchen sink salads lately. Raisins and Chopped Pecans have become permanent additions.
My Problem foods are narrowed down to Grits and Pastry (dumplings)...For some reason these two will not play well with the pouch. Still have occasional bouts with chicken as well.

I can eat grits, but dumplings are a no no for me too. It's like eating lead! I put blue cheese crumbles and canned chicken breast on my salads. The canned chicken is very tender and quick, easy extra protein. I have about 10 different dressings so I don't get bored with anything. Sunflower seeds are really good on any salad and also bump up the protein. Maybe we should have a sub-support group for salad eaters? Salad Eaters Anonymous?

I've just started salads and while they go down well, it takes some time for me to get them down. Chicken continues to be a problem for me, so I won't be adding it. I LOVE nuts in my salad. mmmmm I think I'll go make one now. Question though, my doc said raisins were a no-no for quite some time. I'll have to ask him, because I love raisins.

I used to love salad pre-op and now I don't hate it but I only eat it cuz I have to, it's weird how the surgery changes what you like.

Salads are nice, aren't they? You can get more down, feel very satisfied, and get some 'o that roughage we all need.
I'll get salads when I'm eating out, too, they go down better then most heavy menu items. I used to think they were a waste of time, but now I love them! A little veggies, a little protein....great!

Awesome salad
Fresh spring mix, grape tomatoes, cucumber peices, basalmic vinegarette dressing, top with chopped candied pecans or walnuts, and crumbled blue cheese. I do mine without the tomatoes or cucumbers and I don't glaze my pecans, but you can with maple syrup. This is the best salad I've ever had!
