Default Huh? Scale error?

So, I'm trying to make it a point not to weigh myself daily. Maybe 2-3 times a week. Hey, this is me cutting back! LOL. So I've noticed that I hadn't lost anything for about a week and a half, staying at 236.5. I decided to weigh myself before hopping in the shower this morning, and was 226?!? How is it possible that I'd lost 10 pounds in just a few days? Is it because I was always weighing myself at night? Or my scale hates me, or what? Granted I'm not complaining, but I'm now a little more then nervous to get back on the scale only to find out it was a mistake.

You weigh less in the morning my dear. Sounds to me like you've lost 10 more lbs!

When I was on Atkins I read about something called "flushing". It seems that as you lose fat your body will fill up the fat cell with water in the hopes that it will soon be able to replace the water with fat again. It will hold onto this water for days or maybe a week or more. Once it realizes that no fat is coming soon it releases the water. This is called a flush. It is how you lose many pounds overnight. At least that's the way I understood the process.

I do the same thing. My whole time since surgery has been with me loosing a pound or two then around day 7 or 8 of the period looking up to 15 pounds. I seems like my body is adjusting in different areas. I can feel my arms getting smaller for instance. Then all of a sudden the weight goes. It is weird but I don't think it's abnormal.

Be consistent with when you weight yourself, what you wear etc - you do weigh less in the morning, and it is usually considered your true weight since nothing is in there form your daily activities...
