We had our surgery on the same day and are going through the same thing.
I have found myself crying at nothing and craving the weirdest things. I realize that it is just my head and not my poor tummy. This is totally normal.

On a side note, I am having a heck of a time getting in my liquids and my protien. How are you doing with them?

Smile thank you for your kind words

I just want to say a big thank you to all those of you replied with kind words.
It is nice to be able to post on here and find the answers. As here in the uk wls is not a big thing, it is in some parts of the uk but where i live it is very taboo, even people i know that have had it done don't like to admit....i don't know why, i couldn't wait to tell people.
I have my follow up with the surgeon on tuesday, not sure what he will do/say.
I am feeling abit better about things now but i am really missing bread...i could murder a slice of toast right now, but have been told to say away from bread for at least 8/10 weeks as it can make you feel uncomfortable.
My GP has prescribed me forceval capsuals (mulit vitamins and minerals) to take and told me to drink 2 pints of milk aday to get my protein, but i am really strugglig with the milk part it just makes me sick, i hear over in the usa you have protein bars i will have to look for them over here and ask the dietician if it is ok for me to have them.
Once again Thank you for your support.
And i will have my weight converted into lb's and post it on here so you can all see how i am doing.

Yvonne, I had my surgery on Nov 28, 05 and I had the "buyers remorse" at about my 3rd week. I went out to eat with my hubby and I was so envyous of the other patrons that they could just eat a mouth full of food and "gulp" down their drinks. I am better now that I am on more solid foods. I just eat very slowly and enjoy every flavor of what I am having. It will pass.

I too had a little bout of buyers remorse after the surgery. It does pass. I found that I mourned the loss of my old routines. I did not "grieve" food like some people did, but I did find that I missed some food associated activities, like eating dinner with my family, but as soon as I got on my menu and really started to eat a wider variety of foods, just in tiny portions, this passed. Now it's good. Also, you start to feel better about the whole experience as you begin to have those Wow or ah-ha moments when you realize you have reached a milestone and then that carries you through the rougher times.

Default Re: Mixed Feeling

First let me say HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL My first time on here this year. I am feeling great at this junction. I wanted to reply and say that the feelings and tears you are experiencing are real & normal. I was at that same point up until maybe a few weeks ago, and still have moments here and there when I feel really low. You are thinking what did I do to my body, why can't I just eat a hamburger and drink a shake, etc... Trust me I have felt those moments and have cried a number of times. But as many told me this was normal and would past. It also helps to have a good support group.

I am 12 weeks out and although I feel so much better than I did, still daily progress is being made. You will go up & down the emotional ladder, just make sure you have someone to talk to and this site really really was a blessing, because so many of the things I read about on here, I experienced.
Know that you are not alone & also yes NUTRITION is really important so you will need to find a doctor that will be able to monitor and recommend a nutrition guidline for you.

I am more than happy to email you, I can so relate to how you are feeling.

Hang in there it really does get better.
