Default Dr. gonna kill me, I got pneumonia

Yup! Last week my hubby got the flu, and on Thur I started to feel a tickle in my throat, and on Friday I was flat out, with back pain, chest pain, shortness of breath, I could hear the crackle in my chest every time I breathed. Finally at 4PM last night I told my hubby that something was wrong, so we went to the ER. They did X-ray and it did not show up there, they did blood work and that all turned out fine, they did an EKG and it showed stress on my heart and they thought I might have had a blood clot. So they did a CAT scan with some radiology solution and the Dr. came back a half hour later with "good news and bad news". No blood clot, but I had pneumonia. They dosed my IV with heavy antibiotics. I am not feeling much better today. I am about to call the Dr. office because we called them on call last night for suggestions and to see if I can take the pill form of the antibiotics.
Anyone else get this. How long did it take to recover. I was thinking about going back to work next Tuesday at 4 weeks post op, but now am thinking twice about that.

I am so sorry this has happened to you! You will be in my prayers for quick healing! As for when to go back to work, your health comes first, so working with your doctor, judge how you feel when the time comes. (((HUGS to you!))))

There is a nasty horrible respiratory infection going around here. EVERYONE I know is sick and on antibiotics. This includes my two boys who I like to fondly call my human bacterial cultures. I am two weeks preop and freaking out that round two will start right before my surgery and I will be cancelled. Try to control your coughing as that puts stress on your incisions and may make you prone to a hernia. Wear a binder for support.
