Unhappy Kidney problems

Hey I am 5 months out and have lost 78 lbs. I just started having problems with my kidneys. Is this something I will have to deal with from now on. I am going to the dr. tomorrow to find out if it is just an infection or a stone. Please share your stories with me if you have had these problems. Thanks cpcmom

I dont have a personal story, but I have heard lots of them. Lots of folks have problems with thrie kidneys due to not hydrating themselves enough. If thats your case, good chance you have developed some stones. You can search for related stories here.

Let us know what you find out!

I believe you also need calcium citrate to help prevent stones. Best of luck to you!

Ummm if you are passing a stone you will DEFINATELY FEEL LIKE YOUR GOING TO DIE right then and there the pain is so freaking unbarable you will definately know if your doubled over. I pray that that is not what it is cause I honestly would not wish that on anyone not even my wost enemy. Good luck with the doctor and please keep us informed.

Thumbs down Kidneys

I had kidney stones 4 weeks out, and let me tell ya nothing has hurt more than those little suckers! I had problems in the hospital on day two with my kidneys. I wasn't peeing enough for all the fluid that was being pumped in me. They took the catheter out, and then had to put it back in. NOT FUN! I continue to have a few problems but nothing major. It seems that when I don't get enough fluid they start to hurt, and then I start drinking water! Also if I go on roller coaster and get bumped around a lot (which happens more now because I don't take up the whole seat ) they start to hurt. Then I just take it easy.
I hope that everything is OK with yours and it's just that you need to drink a little more water!

I've had several urinary tract infections, and they are no fun either. I hope your doctor figures out what's going on quickly for you.

I went to the doctor last week they told me it was only muscle spams in my lower back. They were down right unbarriable. I thought I was going to die. He game me some meds and I am feeling fine now. The problem that bothers me most now is my hair. I am 5 months out and my hair is coming out my the hand fulls and thats no lie. Is there anything that can be done for this?

I developed severe pain about four weeks after surgery and was diagnosed with a kidney stone in the emergency room. It still seems to be knocking around but only causing occasional moderate pain.
