Question Protein Calculatin Question

Hi all...

I know we all talk about ideas for protein, and as a pre-opper, I have gleaned so much from all of your experiences. I am confused about something: How, exactly do you calculate how many grams of protien you are actually ingesting? I mean, if a normal serving is 8 oz with 15 grams of protein, and you have a couple of bites/sips, how do you know exactly how much protein is in those tiny bites/sips? Or do you sort of make that 8 oz. last all day to be able to count it as 15 grams?

Sorry to be such a ditz, but I have been wondering this for a little while, and I know you all know the answer

Thanks, as always for your help!

I have the same questions some times myself. But for instance, say I eat half, then I just calculate half. Right now I'm having such a hard time eating anything that I've given up on counting my protein. It will work itself out some day.

I have a scale that weighs to the ounce... I figure out how much protein is in the whole of whatever it is I'm about to eat and weigh it - which also keeps me from trying to eat too much at once. I hate that feeling when I've eaten one bite too many. It's bloody uncomfortable.

Anyway, if I don't eat it all, and I often don't, I just weigh it again, and subtract the difference. If it's got 20 grams of protein, and I've eaten a quarter of it, then I've eaten five grams of protein...but as y'all might have guessed, I'm a little bit obsessive about this stuff.

Better to be obsessive than to not care. Thanks,Lisa for sharing. I found another post that gives a real mathematical equation to figure out grams, etc, so I guess I should start practicing now...

I bought a little shot glass looking measuring glass that is 4 oz. I used it a lot. I still use it for my powdered milk. I also just figure it by eye......if I ate half the little yogurt I counted half the grams. Being that it's mostly liquid at first, I just made the drink and held it til it was gone, no matter how long it took.....ugh. Now I make sure I get 35-40 grams in beverages or protein bars, then I don't worry about the food. I eat protein first and I know I make up that amount throughout the day easily. I just wasn't getting the whole 60 that way. If I feel I didn't eat enough I add more supplement to my nightly cocoa. It gets easier as you go......really.
