There is a range used depending on how much weight someone has to lose. The longer the limb, the greater the weight loss, but increase in possible complications. It is a risk/benefit that needs to be weighed by the surgeon and each patient individually. Some surgeons make the connection between the pouch and small intestine smaller than others. That makes it more restrictive and greater sense of fullness and greater weight loss, but also a higher chance of stricture and obstruction. Again risk/benefit. If what you have is working...just go with it!!!
