Default Going Back to Work?

How long before ya'll went back to work after Lap GBS? How long did your surgeon recommend being out of work? I just want to be prepared financially.

I told my work I wanted two weeks with the hope that I can work part time the second week. I'll probably end up taking the full two weeks though. I just hope that enough time.

I was off work for 5 weeks. I might have been able to go back after 4 weeks.

I asked to be off 4 weeks but ending up taking 6. Everyone seems different.

I had a Lap bypass and was off of work for 3 weeks. I could have stayed longer, but I was getting bored at home.

I was off a little over three weeks. I had Lap RNY and no complications. I've also been walking a lot.

Ok, I was lucky and didn't want to take much time off, I wanted right back to my normality of life. My surgery was on a Tuesday and I went back to work that next Monday. However, I work with some great people and my job is not stressful, so it wasn't hard for me to sit and do my work, and then take a nap on the owners sofa when I needed to!!!
Just don't push yourself to much, your body will let you know when it is ready!! Good Luck.

I didn't go back for 6 weeks. I could have gone back in 4 if I had not had some nausea and dizziness issues but it was all covered by State Disability and my work.
