Default Rick,

Try the protein shakes. Make half (one scoop) and put in a lot of ice to dilute it some. I dumped on a whole shake with banana. At first I thought it was the banana, but come to find out - it's the protein shake. I now make only half and use more ice for dilution. I don't dump anymore on them. Hope that helps.

Mix the soup with water instead of milk. Read labels closely on protein drinks. Many have lots of carbs. Try using soy based and non-dairy products as substitutes. You can have thinned pudding and yogurt. There's low carb yogurt out there now. Doesn't taste the greatest, but it'll suffice for now. There's also low carb ice cream.

Thumbs up Other things during the creamed soup stage

Gads Rick, I'm sorry I didn't even say GOOD LUCK!!!

Here are some hints from my end of the county....

SF/FF pudding thinned with some Carb Countdown "milk", I don't use milk, not even skim.
It goes down really well. I even use this "beverage" to thin the creamed soups too, it really does make it taste better than water!
I put the cream of chicken soup in the blender to get the chunks of "so called" chicken out of it! Only a couple zaps, I didn't want it completely buzzed!
Cream of broccoli in the blender was really good!
Vegetable juice.
Diet ice cream

Remember, this period only lasts FOUR days!!!!! By that time you'll go in for your post op meeting with all the other people who had their surgery this week too, and you'll be put on soft foods, heaven awaits my friend, just around the corner!!! Takes notes when you go to that meeting!!!
And again!!!
GOOD LUCK!!!! You're gonna do great!!!

No no, you're not being needy at all Rick, that's what we're here for!!!! To me, these next four days were the most discouraging, the soup was good to me though, that may have helped, I love soup, and every chance I got, I ate some, even though it was only a few sips at a time. You may eat it every few minutes, your microwave is going to get a work out!!
At this point, you don't have to be on a meal schedule at ALL, not for MONTHS yet, don't even think about that, just get the nourishment in you, you don't want to get dehydrated!!!
If you have to sip all day long do it, keep eating the popsicles, keep up with the jello, I've heard that some had mashed potatos, I didn't, but some have, get in you whatever you can that is soft and creamy....
You're gonna make it, I just know you will, tomorrow night is gonna be fun for you, Kelly will fill your mind so full you won't know what hit you!!! But your going to go home with a new resolve, and you might even hit the grocery store before you get there!!!! LOL
Hang tight!!!! Remember what we all said about the ride of your life??? You're just about begin that ride!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOHOOO!!!!!!!!

Rick check out the nutrition section for a post titled favorite proteins..I posted on there some protein items you might want to try. Mainly protein drinkd that are not made from powder or chocolate/van/strawberry.

There more like fruit puch and grape juice.

Check out vita-min world in the chula vista mall.
