Smile It is wonderful to have fellow WLS compatriots

I feel so much better being able to talk to others who are going through the same things that I am. I was originally 285 when I had the surgery and it was prompted by my type 2 diabetes. I can say that my diabetes is gone and when I reach 185 I will have my goal completed. I now weigh 241 as of yesterday. My surgery was November 22, 2005. The biggest thing I am going through is the instant gratification bug. I want all the weight gone now. I am sure I am not alone.

Well, Larry, I gotta say...WLS is about as instant as you can get and still be alive! Enjoy, buddy! You're doing a great job!

The instant gratification would be nice...but once you are at goal,it is different. I feel like the ride is over. I know that now that I am at goal...the thrill is over...it is kinda depressing. Enjoy the losing...it may be slow, but soon you will be at goal and wonder where time went.

I can sure relate with the instant gratification thing. I hate still being fat! But I'm trying to enjoy the process......each size I can know I'll never revisit it. Next thing you know I'll just be chubby.
