I almost did this with candy corn of all things! It was during my liquid phase, so no food, and definitely NOT sugar. I had it on the way to my mouth when I realized and dropped it. We ate so mindlessly in the past that I am not at all surprised we could "accidentally" eat something. The funny thing is.....I don't really even like candy corn!? You'll be ok, and I'd definitely tell on the nurse!

When I was fasting, I was making a sandwich for my husband and, without a thought, licked the yellow mustard off my fingers. Oh my God, I thought I was going to pee my pants! I quickly got a paper towel and started rubbing my poor tongue. I realized afterwards how stupid I was; a little yellow mustard meant nothing--no calories! But, at the time, I was SURE it was going to throw me out of ketosis and ruin my fast.
I'm sure that most of us have hilarious mishaps with our food. Now you have yours. Just relax...you'll laugh about it soon.
By the way, I think the nurse was a jerk too!

Thanks Dara...I am feeling better and thank god I didn't have a dumping episode and the pain has gone away. You all are the greatest! The quick response and positive remarks are just what I needed. Just knowing I was not going to die was what I needed to hear. So I must thank you all so much...You all are sooooo precious to me, I can't even begin to give thanks...

I think you will be just fine. Try to relax and sip. I know you place is crazy, but you did just have surgery, and perhaps you can get help, or put the kids to bed early to take time for you.
You're doing great, and will continue to do great. I would be concerned for you if you didn't care when it happened :-) As for the nurse...seriously tell the doc - she shouldn't have made light of your situation! What a bimbo!

You are so right Marty..It was mindless. Like you said I never thought about what I ate before just tasted stuff or ate it, without a thought in my head and now with trying to change that bad behavior is a challenge.
Your story about the candy corn was pretty darn funny Thanks for the laugh. Oh, believe me I will be telling on that nurse. She really ticked me right off. Here I was crying thinking I was going to die and she has to be rude. Thanks again for the laugh and support

Thanks Whitney..I am feeling better everyone support here helped me through. I about had a nervous break down when that darn noodle slipped down my throat, I even tried to throw it back up..I was literally on my hands and knees gagging. It scared the poop out of me. It was mindless and I could of killed myself for doing that. I care so much that is my problem. I didn't do this surgery for nothing that is for sure. I put 100% into this. I risked my life to be here for my kids and be healthy not to throw it away so that darn noodle gave me the biggest scare. Thank the lord I am fine and doing much better
Thanks for the support, it means the world to me...
PS...I will be turning that nurse in, believe me...

I truly believe she treated you with prejudice, assuming you intentionally disobeyed orders. I wonder what her true attitude is about MO people to assume that. Grrrrr.........makes me mad!
