Default McDonalds Ice Cream cone

Someone told me we could eat these because it was only 18 grams of sugar. Has anyone tried it? I know, I know it is a baaaad idea.

Arrow McDonald's Ice Cream Cone

Julie:

My two cents - You're seven months post-op. You're within 11 lbs. of your goal. You should be able to eat almost anything within reason. This is where the phrase, "everything in moderation," applies. Nutritional information for the vanilla cone from dietfacts.com:

McDonald's Vanilla Reduced Fat Cone
Nutrition Facts
Serving Size: 1 cone • 3.2 oz • 90g
Amount Per Serving
Calories 150 Calories from Fat 40
Total Fat 4.5g 7%
Saturated Fat 3g 15%
Cholesterol 20mg 7%
Sodium 75mg 3%
Total Carbohydrate 23g 8%
Dietary Fiber 0g 0%
Sugars 17g
Protein 4g 6%
Vitamin A 6% • Vitamin C 2%
Calcium 10% • Iron 2%

If you have the cone as a planned snack and include it in your total caloric intake for the day, I personally don't think it's a bad choice. (Although...the carb content sounds high to me.) If you can tolerate that amount of sugar, I say go for it! We had WLS so that we could live a new lifestyle, not deprive ourselves forever!

I have not tried anything over 11 grams of sugar. I would eat it at home though just in case.

Default ice cream cone

i say what dara says. if you have it as a planned snack, i think it's fine. i wouldn't go get an ice cream cone just to have an icecream cone unless it was part of your calories for the day.
