Default Eating too much?

I've used the search function and looked up a bit on this and most people said they had the feeling they were eating too much but were fine... at breakfast i can eat a whole egg and 1 peice of toast and feel satisfied.. and im eating that withint around 15 minutes probly... i can also take mouth fulls of water and not feel anything bad, i did one time have some crackers and nuts and my mouth was real dry so i took a drink of milk and it felt like it was stuck in my chest and it made me puke... but I don't think i'm really feeling a full feeling, its kind of weird... like i can eat a 4oz peice of fish easily no fullness.. I havnt stepped on a scale for probly 2 weeks now so i'm not sure how far down i am now it accually might be 3 weeks..

I know I feel sometimes like "Oh my God I can't believe how much I can eat" when I have heard other discuss their eating amounts. I am learning not to stress about it. If I sit down and really logically look at what I eat, it is less than 1000 calories a day and WAY less than I have ever eaten before. I have lost weight. I also look at the nutritional value of what I eat...is it healthy stuff or too many carbs and fat. The answer is that I eat the good stuff 99 percent of the time. Fish goes down easy for me as well. I can eat more fish that chicken. It really depends upon the food, the density, etc. There is no one answer for anyone. Listen to your tool...your pouch and you will be fine.

My full feeling is totally different now, the pre-op. I feel it more in my rib and back. I was told to try not to eat more than 1/2 cup at one time.

Somedays I seem to eat a lot more than others. When you look at ho much everyone else is eating compared to what you eat, you'll realize you eat very little. I think it's some kinda mind game!

Default Thank god you brought this up

Okay, now I'm feeling slightly better about things. Seriously, I was starting to hard core panic that my surgeon might have lied to me about doing the surgery because I was not feeling all these effects that others were. I have had some reflux going on, things not making there way down correctly, but no adverse reactions otherwise. Which, frankly scares me. Why don't I feel sick after drinking 6-8oz of soups? Granted they are broth soups with nothing in them but still...I had 8oz of fat free cream of mushroom and was okay. I know everyone is different.

I had my surgery on 10-27 and this weekend I started on as I call it pulverized food. I chopped up some roasted turkey breast slices (two slices, aprox 1 oz of actual meat) ate them with two teaspoons of mashed potatoes and was fine.

Truthfully, I almost wish that I could not eat anything. Then maybe I would not be obsessing about if I am eating too much, drinking too much water, stretching out the pouch etc etc.....

I still have the head games going on especially now when I am stuck but I have to force myself to think logically and then I am ok for a while. I worry too that my pouch will stretch or that I am doing something wrong etc. But then as Lori said....I sit down and really look at the amount of food I eat and what I eat. I think we have all had failures with weight in the past and it is hard to believe that this will actually work. Lets all (me big time) take a deep breath and learn to love the new beginning we have been given and learn to listen to our bodies and not our heads. I needed to say that for me mostly but I hope it helps someone else too.

Default Ahhh

I always wonder if I am eating too much, and Its nice to know that I am not the only one. My wife is always amazed that I have ate so much. I guess she still thinks that I am just out of the hospital and that a couple of spoonfulls of broth will fill me up. I think she is afraid that i am going to stretch out my pouch and eat to much and start to gain my weight back. I am just over 7 weeks out now and as of last week I have lost 54 pounds. I think I am doing good but who knows.
