No, I don't think it is tacky...maybe you should have everyone give you a certain $ amount so you know you are covered.

Good idea, Rain. I'm sure most people would be willing to contribute.
Thank you for all you do!

Last year the D.J. cost about $400. so I guess if every one pitched in 10 bucks it would cover the cost pretty well.We had appetizer pot luck and byob spirits. I filled in with more food and beer and wine and it seemed we had enough.

Lets come up with a date.
How does the first week in December, before all the company parties start going?

i'm in Rain. I know you have teens who can drive and get you what you need, but please if I can do anything for you, just PM me...sometimes our kids go on with their lives, and I'd be happy to do anything you need.

edited, 'cause I thought you were home already...

If I still live in CA on 12/2, count me in And it is so not tacky to ask for people to pay even $20.00, rain - you host so much in your beautiful home

I'd love to come! Also, I agree with the others...I see no problem with asking people to chip in a bit for the expense. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help out prior to the party.
