Default Sorry to hear

I had these problems long before WLS.

I had endometriosis, and cysts that would blow up on my ovaries during my period, that would send me literally to my knees in pain. I would go to the doctor and get it checked out Rain.

I had hysterectomy at age 33. I have been pain free now almost 9 yrs. Hope you get some relief. Suzy

O.K. girls this is quite personal and yet I do not know where to go for this question.

Anyone find that their period changed from being normal to being painful after wls??

I have had the last 2 months with unusually heavy flow as well as incredible pain. So much discomfort that I can not even keep a tampon in and it seems to be worse when I have gas or need to have a b.m.

what is up with that???

It only lasts for the first 2 days, but jeeeeezzzz!!!!

I am one of those girls who never even had a cramp, now this is excrutiating. I can barely walk, bend what ever. Going potty or passing gas as well as removing the tampon helps, but still very uncomfortable.

Anyone else with similar problems??

Exclamation Motrin

Rain:

I was told that continued regular use of NSAID's after WLS is a BIG no-no. They irritate the stomach and often cause ulcers. Discontinuing Motrin was one of the huge issues that kept me from getting WLS years ago. I had taken Ibuprofen (Motrin) for years for chronic headaches and cramps. Now I only take it when I really, really need it.

I'm really surprised that Dr. C and Kelly would be okay with you taking Motrin on a regular basis. Do you take Motrin on a daily basis? And they know this?

I am very surprised, too because both Kelly and Dr. C said Motrin is an absolute no no. I think one must take an acid blocker for sure to protect the pouch. I personally don't risk it. Ibuprofen, NSAIDS, Motrin, and Aspirin are off of my list forever. I just won't go there.

I had a total hysterectomy at 23. I just knew something wasn't right and my ob/gyn I had been with for years kept saying i needed an anti depressant. I switched docs and saw my new doc on a Monday the week of Thanksgiving and had surgery that friday. I had a whole lot of problems going on including a tumor in my uterus with pre cancer cells. The doc said as bad as things were for me at that point in 6 mos he wouldn't have been able to do anything for me except keep me comfortable until I died. Now , I know this is a rare weird thing and this isn't what is up with you. If you ever know deep down something isn't right and the doc thinks your wacko-GET A 2nd OPINION. If things don't level out soon, please, for me , go see your ob/gyn and just get checked out and explain whats going on. It is better to be safe than sorry!

Here I thought I was the only one! I got my first period post-up a week later than usual and man oh man! Those cramps woke me up from a deep sleep! And again this month - POW! Thanks goodness the whole thing doesn't last more than a few days because these cramps are for the birds!

I don't get cramps never have, but mine are now heavier and longer. I have switched pills hoping that it gets better. My doc said it would take about 3 or 4 months before the new pills kick in. Maybe you should talk to your doctor.

Unhappy Poor Rain...I feel ya honey!

Hey Rain I totally hear ya I have had the same thing happen and it has ever since WLS extremely heavy the first 2-3 days then lite and cramping like nothing I have ever felt and I never cramped before I know that the Clots cause a great deal of cramping thats what I have experienced. So you are not alone honey but you may just want to talk to your doc about it, mine put me on Birth Control pills to regulate the periods and to lighten the flow so that may be something you can talk to you Dr. about I know since I did its been a heck of alot better. Good luck honey.

Default Oh man

That is not what I wanted to hear. I was wondering if this surgery would affect that area of my life...it's bad enough now. Something to look forward to
