Bread, Pita, Tortilla??
What is the best to have? And What brand?
I saw the McRib is back at McDee's, I so used to love eating those. But cant now.
So i found this Boca BBQ Riblet thing at the store and it is really good, But i wnat to maybe put it on a piece of bread or have a few bits with bread. But i dont know what type i can have. All i know is whole grain is best.

From everything I've read, I'd say whole grain and preferably toasted.

Hun there is nothing you can not have in moderation I would stick to whole wheat but you know eating that bread is going to fill you up quickly I would just mack on the meat forget the carbs that are not really needed after all its the meat that is yummy not so much the bread.

Actually, I can eat the McRib; my husband buys them (we've done it twice) and I eat 1/3 and he eats the rest.

The sauce on the McRibs tastes funny to me now. I use to eat them pre-op. Now, one bite and it's garbageville.
Whole grain bread is the best. When i have a sandwich, I will take one or two bites of the whole thing together. I then finish by removing the innards and noshing on that. I leave behind a nice pile of bread. If it's well toasted, I can sometimes eat the bread with the meat. I don't like crust, so by the time I peel it off, there's not much bread left anyway. I can eat a small, fajita sized tortilla when i do have one. I buy the lower carb versions. A snack I like to have is a garlic spinach tortilla with some cream cheese on it.
At your stage, you won't be albe to eat more than a few bites of bread product before you start to get the full, icky feeling. Like with anything new, start slow, chew well, and time your bites so you don't overdo it.

I loves dips, and bought some today that I can mix with lo cal mayo and sour cream. I was trying to think of something healthier to eat them with. It seems my love for dips did not go away, but they always seem accomapnied by lots of empty carbs (chips, pretzels, tortilla chips). Is there a way to make the low carb tortillas crunchy enough to dip? I know veggies are the obvious answer, but I don't always want that. Any other ideas that aren't full of bad carbs?

Toast tortillas in the oven at 350 until crunchy. Or check out the health stores for alternatives. I have seen soy chips and veggie chips there. Albertson's now has a health/organic aisle in some of their stores.

Great ideas.......soy chips could help me get my protein. I actually found some by Atkins that I liked way back when I was on South Beach, but haven't seen them recently. They even had tortilla chips. Thanks Marie.....I'm gonna be skinny dipping now.
