Default UGGGHHHHH Something is happening to me

and Im not sure what it is. I get this pain everytime I eat or drink something and I feel nauseated afterward. I realize now by the pains in my eyes that I am getting dehydrated, but this sharp pain keeps me from drinking.

I am not sure if I have read about this here before or not. I have a call into my doctor and he will call me back soon.

Any ideas as to what is causing this?

Hope

Hope,
I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm very glad you've called the dr.

Default glad you called doc

I had the same problem, and it was a stricture (blockage)

I had to have endoscopy done and they reopened it. Afterwards I was able to do fine. Try and eat smaller bites, and chew really well. Water goes down much easier with crystal lite.

Good luck and hope you feel better. Suzy

Question Doctor Called?

Hope:

I hope that your doctor has called you back by now! From what I've read, it sounds like it may be a stricture. The good news is that if it is, it is fairly easy to fix. Please let us know when you know something. Good luck, dear.

Default I am SOOOO embarassed!

I ended up going to the ER per my doctor. I had a contrasted CT and a gall bladder ultrasound, everything is normal and actually looks perfect. The doctor told me to take Gas-X. All of that for some gas?!!! But better to be safe than sorry. If I continue to feel the pains he will do an upper endoscopy just to make sure.

Thank you everyone,

Hope

Why in the world would you be embarrassed about taking care of your health? You just had major surgery and experienced unusual pain. It sounds perfectly reasonable to me to call your doctor and have some diagnostic tests performed. Thankfully, it sounds like it's nothing serious. At this point, don't take anything for granted. This is the time the saying "better to be safe than sorry" is more relevant than ever.

Good luck with the Gas-X. If it doesn't work, call again. That's what you paid your doctor to do--manage your surgery and post-op care.
