Question About all this hanging stuff

Okay elder post opies, I need your help. I know it has only been 6 months since surgery and all, and I am VERY excited about all the weight I have lost. Okay now the bad part, hanging skin. Did you guys notice it hanging like crazy and then tone up just a little as your body metabolized everything? Did you notice a change at all with 1-2 years? Or did it just stay the same the whole time? I look forward to your input... thanks guys!

Default good news and bad news

Well Bridget, the good part is that everyone is different. We all carry our weight in different areas and places. Most of my weight was in my belly. I still have a ring of skin around my waist. It's been there since I lost the weight and no matter what I do, it's not going anywhere. My wife carried her weight in her lower abdomen and "pannis" area. All that excess skin is still hanging there. That's why she is getting a tummy tuck. We both still have our "wings" on our arms too. Unfortunately, skin, once stretched and held there, does not firm up very much when the weight is lost. At least that's my experience.

Default Hanging Skin

Bridget,
I can honestly say that my skin is much better at 13 months out than it was at six. Each month it is getting a little tighter, I don't think I will ever look like a thin 20 year old, but I'm not 20 . It is getting better and I think I look pretty good for a formerly MO, almost 40, mother. All of that plays into it. I promised to give my skin a year after I hit goal to shrink up before I even considered PS. So I have about 11 months to go. Now that I lost my job I will be too poor anyway

Hang in there, sweetie (no pun intended). It will keep shrinking, but it may never be tight.

Mary

The biggest thing hanging low on me are my breasts I don't think these puppies will firm up any time soon. I've had to go down a bra size and my cups no longer runneth over.
