3rd Week Out and Eating...
I was brave today and I had 1/4 - 1/3 of a baked potato. A little Country Crock and sour cream, and it wasn't so bad. Now I'm just waiting to see if we get along and all...
Searching around, I didn't see many people eating a baked potato this early on. I'm wondering if I might have jumped the gun. Mashed potatoes are on my list of OK foods -- so I thought they were similar enough. We'll see.
I've yet to try scrambled eggs -- maybe tonight. That and unsweetened apple sauce. The fat free Yoplait yogurt seems to agree with me. Though it does have a touch of HF corn syrup...so that calls for moderation.
I got a half-gallon of vanilla Silk soy milk last night and made a banana/silk smoothie. Different, but not as bad as some of the protein shakes I've tried. Blech...
I just wonder, what are/were some of your favorite foods during your 3rd week?

I think a baked potato should be ok as long as you don't overdo the fat on it. I was eating refried beans, mashed potatos, SF jello mixed in cottage cheese, cheddarella cheese, and tortilla chips.

I think the baked potato wouldn't be bad as long as you don't eat the skin.
At 3 weeks out I was eating refried beans with cheese, cottage cheese, string cheese, nsa apple sauce, yogurt, mashed potatoes, saltines with peanut butter, turkey lunch meat with sliced cheese, but mostly lots of beans. I love beans, they don't give me any problems. I tried shrimp at 3 1/2 weeks out, it was very good but kinda a pain to chew really good. Its a soft food, and was on my doc's list for that early out.

In maintenance... now I'm yo-yoing up and down 10 lbs or so. I'm trying to find out how to stay at a set weight, it's rough.

Marie will be here shortly to educate you on wise and unwise food choices.....baked potato being unwise.

Wow, I think you are doing great Vertigo. I am glad things are working out so well - its a postive note for us that have to get to the surgery stage yet.

Thanks, Lisa dear. I feel great. I just want to do well -- follow the rules best I can and what not. Just make the most of this gift I've been given!
Thanks for the encouragement!

The chips are corn chips, no wheat flour in them, so they don't expand in your pouch and block stuff. I didn't/haven't gone near potato chips.
